National Anthem of United States Of America Day

National Anthem day is commemorated on March 3 of every year. A national anthem is a state anthem, national hymn, national songs which is a patriotic musical composition that evokes the records, traditions, and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation’s government as the official national song or by convention through use by the people. The poem has four stanzas, only the first and last is commonly sung on the day.

History of National Anthem Day

The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of United States Of America which was written by Francis Scott Key on September 14th of  1814, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships during the War of 1812. The anthem was adopted eighty-six years ago on March 4, 1931, and was composed by John Stafford Smith. The key to the anthem was inspired by the large American flag, the Star Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the victory of America. The anthem soon became a well-known American patriotic song. The anthem was recognized for official use by the United States Navy in 1889, and by U.S President in 1916, and was made the national anthem by a Congressional resolution on March 3, 1931, which was signed by President Herber Hoover. National Anthem Day is celebrated to honor the national anthem of the country.
