Although the homeless man wasn’t amazed at the fruitcake, this made Yates establish a connection between the fanny pack and helping those hungry people. Thus he had contacted the food banks to get the movement started and continued to hand out some food while wearing the fanny pack. He has created International Fanny Pack Day in 2007 and from then on, the holiday has been observed in about seven countries.
